Early Spring Monitoring

We begin monitoring for inchworm egg hatch in early April. Timing varies by year and microclimate — we track degree-day accumulations to identify optimal treatment timing for your specific location in Suffolk County.

Dipel Application

Dipel (Bt) is applied to leaf surfaces and branch tips when larvae are in early instar stages (1st–3rd). Caterpillars ingest the Bt protein during feeding, which disrupts their gut lining and stops feeding within hours.
